The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, organized a major cultural event on 29th March 2011 at the KL PAC Auditorium, showcasing Indian classical dances by three of the most renowned Malaysian cultural institutions - Kalpana Dance Theatre, Temple of Fine Arts and Sutra Dance Theatre. The groups from these institutions performed Bharatnayam, Kuchipudi and Odissi dance forms respectively.
Datuk Dr. S Subramaniam, Hon’ble Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia was the Guest of Honour. There was overwhelming response to the dance presentation and more than 500 people attended this event, including the Ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Corps, official of the Malaysian Government, well known cultural personalities, etc.
The invitees universally appreciated the initiative that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur took to organize an event that involves Malaysian institutions and Malaysian artistes. The Minister of Human Resources remarked that this is the first times that an event of this nature is being organized, and they hope to see similar events in the future.
