The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur and Gandhi Memorial Trust jointly organized 2nd Gandhi Memorial Lectures at the Royal Lake Club, Kuala Lumpur, to commemorate 142nd Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking at the launch were the High Commissioner of India, Mr. Vijay Gokhale, UN resident coordinator Mr. Kamal Malhotra and GMT immediate past chairman/retired Court of Appeal judge Datuk Mahadev Shankar. The Gandhi Memorial Lectures were delivered by Chairman of Human Rights Commission of Malaysia, Tan Sri Hasmy Agam and Sisters in Islam board member Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, A short musical performance on Gandhiji’s favourite Bhajans was presented by well-known vocalist Ms Sveta Kilpady, who was accompanied by NSCBICC’s music teacher Ms Savithri Sreenivas on violin and Hemendra Shah on tabla. More than 400 guests attended the lectures.
