INDIAN CULTURAL CENTRE
HIGH COMMISSION OF INDIA
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
On the 15th August each year India celebrates its Independence Day. The people of India under the inspired leadership of Mahatma Gandhi finally won independence from British rule. Prime Minister Nehru’s historic words – “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom”, still move the nation after 66 years. In those ninety years from first War of Independence in 1857 to the raising of the tricolor on the ramparts of the Red Fort in 1947, Indians from every part of India and every strata of society painted a glorious canvas in the colours on non-violence and won the admiration of the world by defeating the greatest imperial power without resort to arms.
To commemorate this historic event, the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, High Commission of India is honoured to invite all our proud citizens living in Malaysia to participate in a “Quiz on the History of the Indian Independence Movement”, to be held on Saturday, 17th August 2013 at the Indian Cultural Centre, Capsquare Signature Office B, Level 1, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, 50100 Kuala Lumpur.
