On the occasion of Gandhi Jayantion 2 October 2016, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India ShriNarendraModi will inaugurate the PravasiBharatiya Kendra (PBK) in New Delhi and dedicate it to the Indian Diaspora.

The PBK is a premier convention centre for showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Indian Diaspora from different parts of the world. The Kendra (centre) is equipped to host a wide range of activities such as meetings, seminars, classes and cultural events to facilitate exchange of ideas involving the Diaspora. It is expected that PBK would emerge as a focal point for all activities engaging the Indian Diaspora.

PBK will also have a well-stocked library with writings, books, journals and audio visual material documenting the historical emigration of Indian community to foreign shores and the contemporary linkages of the Indian Diaspora with their motherland. It will also have writings by prominent authors from the Indian Diaspora.

The inaugural event will be webcast live at 11.30 - 12.30 hrs. Indian Standard Time (IST) (corresponding to 2 pm to 3 pm Malaysian Time) on Sunday, October 2, 2016.  NetajiSubhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, Kuala Lumpur is making arrangements for LIVE TELECAST of the event at its premises.You are cordially invited to witness the event, in case of an interest.We are also arranging a High Tea on the occasion.Please confirm your attendance if you will be able to come.

1. After the completion of my tenure at the NSCBICC, Kuala Lumpur as Director on 24th June, 2016, I am now going back to India. Your support, cooperation & participation in the NSCBICC events helped me to achieve greater heights. I am very grateful that your willingness to support me in all my endeavor as Director NSCBICC has made the NSCBICC as a hub of Indian culture. My successor is expected to be Mr.K Ayyanar a dear friend of mine who will be joining as the Director of NSCBICC shortly.

The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, Kuala Lumpur, a Cultural Wing of High Commission of India , Kuala Lumpur was established in February 2010 to showcase India's rich heritage and promote multilayered cultural exchanges between the peoples of India and Malaysia.

The establishment of the centre is an important initiative of the Government of India, in keeping with the high priority it attaches to its bilateral relations with Malaysia. As you may be aware the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, Kuala Lumpur has shifted to its new premises Menara Sentral Vista, No 17-2& 17-3A, No 150, Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad, 50470Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur and has changed its working days. The new working days are WEDNESDAY TO SUNDAY 11am to 7.30 pm. Monday and Tuesday NSCBICC will remain closed.

It conducts classes in Carnatic Vocal, Kathak dance, Yoga, Hindi language and Tabla by trained teachers from India and Malaysia. At the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, more than 700 students have been benefited from the classes. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre also hosts an AYUSH Information Centre (traditional Indian medicines) and a Library having more than 7000 books including some latest books on Indian History, Politics, Economics, Art, Culture & English fiction. There are a substantial number of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi & Bengali books too. There is a separate Children's Corner and an Ayush Corner with books on traditional Indian medicines. Apart from books Library has a wide collection of Documentaries, Audio Cds and Bollywood DVDs which could be hired.

In addition, NSCBICC also gives platform to the local talents and organizes regular performances at its multipurpose hall and outside depending upon the events.
